Grading criteria:

• Master: Straight, very regular and tight grained, uniform color

• AAAA: Straight, tight grained, not as regular as Master, uniform color

• AAA: Tight grained, tending to somewhat more open grain spacing on the outer edge, slight color variation possible (winter growth)

• AA: Less tight to more open grain spacing, slight color variation and/or curved or wavy grain possible 
  

• A: Wider grain spacing, slight color variation and/or curved or wavy grain possible

• AB: Suitable for test models

• Attention : Tops with bear claw could have wider grain spacing!

Master tops for guitars:

The waiting list 2024 for spruce tops for guitars in Master quality grade is already full. It would be a pleasure for us to answer your enquiries concerning Master and AAA tops for the waiting list 2025 beginning in August 2024.

Also in 2024 these tops will be limited to 3 tops per person per year. There is such a great demand for these tops, that we try to share them in a fair way for our customers.

PS: If you visit us personally, we always have some master guitar tops in stock to choose from.
